We are privileged to work and play on the Tutukaka Coast, a pacific ocean paradise exposed to the mighty Tangaroa, the Pacific Ocean. Even the Tutukaka Harbour and its marina, while sheltered from big swells is only a few hundred metres to the open sea.
There is lots to do as well as surfing. Diving is a well known attraction with the beautiful Poor Knights Islands a few hours boat trip away, but the uncrowded beaches and coastal scenery are world class too.
Most of the walkways around the coast are easy and the sheltered pohutukawa tree lined beaches make the best picnic spots in the world. Fishing is accessible from rocky outcrops up the coast (as well as charters) and there are easily accessible snorkelling spots.
The Poor Knights Islands are iconic to the Tutukaka Coast and are visible from most coastal viewing points. A boat trip out to this marine reserve should not be missed while visiting the Tutukaka Coast.
